Derek is your typical, active six-year old.  He is very social
    and energetic.  He loves being in first grade and has really
    developed his reading skills.  His favorite books are Junie B.
    Jones, Encyclopedia Brown and Magic Tree House.

    Derek enjoys playing sports and this past fall was on a tackle
    football team and this spring he will be playing soccer.  
    Derek also enjoys art and is always drawing pictures and
    making little books.  Derek also enjoys going to movies,
    swimming, playing with friends, and computer games.

    Derek is full of joy.  He brightens any room he walks into.  
    Derek loves to be around other children and play.  He also
    loves to laugh and tease.  Derek can be silly at times and
    always seems to make his younger brother laugh.

Derek is a huge help around the house.  He is quick to do things that are asked and sets the table
almost every night before dinner.  Derek also is supposed to make his bed everyday but he has
decided just to sleep with a heavy blanket over him so he doesn’t get his comforter messed up.

Derek is a wonderful older brother and is always extremely caring and kind to Owen.  He loves to
play outside with Owen and always includes him.  Derek also enjoys spending time with his cousins
and grandparents when we visit them or they visit us.
